I remember standing in my grandfather's garage as a child - the smell of iron, machine oil, and wood shavings, rows of tools I didn't yet know how to use, but I felt I could make anything. That feeling filled me with a wild kind of inspiration - a desire to create something so strong I could feel it physically in my hands. I've carried it with me ever since. When I grew up and trained as a sculptor, I realized I could use those same tools to give body to my thoughts - angels, dreams, images that had always felt more real to me than the world around me. That's what I still do: translate what happens inside me into physical form, in bronze and composite, so it can exist beside me.
Before a dream can take shape, I weld the steel that holds it.
